Farmers’ Markets
Farmers’ markets are food markets at which local farmers sell produce and often other food items. Farmers’ markets make healthy living easier for residents by making fresh fruits and vegetables, and other healthy options, more available. There are many efforts in the County , State of Illinois and the nation to expand access to such food for individuals and families who receive benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
