About Us

The mission of Active Transportation Alliance is to make bicycling, walking and public transit so safe, convenient and fun that we will achieve a significant shift from environmentally harmful, sedentary travel to clean, active travel. We advocate for transportation that encourages and promotes safety, physical activity, health, recreation, social interaction, equity, environmental stewardship and resource conservation.

Our Involvement With Healthy Hotspot

Active Transportation Alliance is helping to transform the way that Cook County residents get around. We work side-by-side with residents, advocates, elected leaders, municipal staff, agencies like the Cook County Department of Public Health and other important stakeholders to advance a vision of a more walkable, bikeable, transit-friendly and, ultimately, healthy Cook County for all.
