The Village Of Maywood Successfully Implements Tobacco 21 Policy

Proviso Partners for Health (PP4H), a multi-sector coalition that supports community health and health equity, led the campaign for Tobacco 21 in Maywood with leadership from the Respiratory Health Association. The Village of Maywood has become one of over 260 municipalities in the U.S. to increase the minimum legal sales age of tobacco from 18 to 21. With unanimous support from the village board, Maywood’s Tobacco 21 policy went into effect immediately on May 2, 2017 and will help protect youth within the community from the dangers of tobacco use. Read the full success story here.
