Let's Go the Distance, Cook County Walking Campaign

Go the Distance, Cook County is a social media campaign encouraging residents to walk more in the places where they live, work, learn, worship, and play. Walking is fun, easy, affordable, and a great way to connect with family or friends and explore Healthy HotSpots. Together, we will increase how much we walk, starting on National Walking Day - April 6th - through August 31, 2016. Take the pledge, log your minutes, and share pictures as you #GoTheDistanceCC. Bird the Preserves and Go the Distance

The Forest Preserves of Cook County are a natural Healthy HotSpot, providing opportunities for people to connect with nature and outdoor activities. The Preserves boast nearly 70,000 acres, offering residents numerous ways to enjoy recreational activities. You can #GoTheDistanceCC by participating in #BirdthePreserves. Each month during the 2016 Bird the Preserves initiative, walk in the Preserves to see some of the most interesting and spectacular birds spotted in Cook County. Find an event>>

American Heart Association’s Workplace Health Solutions

The American Heart Association (AHA) has launched an ambitious movement to build a culture of health and well-being. They are putting their plan into action where most Americans spend a lot of time — at work. AHA has combined their scientific expertise with the experience of some of America’s largest companies to test and promote evidence-based approaches to workplace health. The AHA Playbook, a result of this collaboration, helps you better understand what works in workplace health and provides practical, credible advice to tailor the design of your programs.
