Proactive Community Services (PCS) , located in Flossmoor, Illinois, is a 501c3 community-based human service nonprofit. Their overarching aim is to improve the social determinants of health and economic security that severely impacts residents in the Southland region. PCS’s mission is to improve health, social, and economic inequalities for disadvantaged minority adults, families, and youth. PCS successfully collaborates programming with federal, state, and local community partners. The agency conducts targeted outreach, delivers culturally competent, client centered, high-quality HIV and chronic disease prevention services, health promotions, and job readiness services to Southland residents.
PCS distributes materials to “hotspots” throughout the 33 south suburban Cook County communities. PCS aims to positively influence behaviors in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19, by raising awareness and creating supports testing availability and access.
