Founded in 2010, the Quinn Center was established to partner with the people and organizations of Proviso to build an inclusive culture of justice, health and peace. The Center emerged from the strengths, hopes, and aspirations of the parishioners of Saint Eulalia Catholic Church to meet various challenges stemming from a lack of resources in these communities. All engagement programs are created with community input specifically to break down isolation, share life experiences, and learn from each other. Quinn repurposes the former St. Eulalia School building and reinvigorates the church as centerpieces of daily life in Maywood. It has become a central meeting place for empowerment and decision making in the community. Year-round programming is available for over 600 youth, seniors, and marginalized men and women at low or no cost to the participant. The Quinn Center disseminates COVID-19 information and material through outreach, social media, and monthly email newsletters.
