We Are Building Healthier Communities.

About the League

What:

The Public Health Heroes League is an animated team of public health servants. We represent traditional roles in local health departments. We’re dedicated to building healthier communities in suburban Cook County.

Who:

We are not a hospital or a clinic. But we do have doctors and nurses on our team and a wide range of other professionals, including epidemiologists, community health workers and emergency response personnel. We are public health professionals working to prevent illnesses, injuries and premature deaths.

Where:

We serve 2.3 million residents in 127 Cook County suburbs.

How:

We enforce health regulations, monitor and respond to public threats and collaborate with community partners to promote better health. Measles outbreak? We’re here to protect you. Lead in your home? We’ll help you remove it. Mental health challenges? We’ll connect you to resources. These are just a few things we do to build healthier communities.
