Toolkit “Get Medicaid Facts” Now Available To Help People Understand Changes to Medicaid Eligibility

Community-Based Organizations Encouraged to Share Information

The Cook County Medicaid Impact Workgroup, a coalition convened by Cook County Health, has launched Get Medicaid Facts ,” a new website and communications toolkit designed to help people understand upcoming changes to Medicaid eligibility and what steps they can take now to keep their coverage.
These resources come at a critical time. Federal policy changes are expected to significantly impact Medicaid, and an estimated 400,000 Illinois residents could lose coverage in the coming years if they are not prepared or informed.
The Get Medicaid Facts toolkit  was created specifically to support trusted community organizations and includes:
  • Clear, easy-to-understand information about upcoming Medicaid changes
  • Actions people can take now to stay covered
  • Ready-to-use outreach materials in multiple languages
  • Customizable resources you add your own brand to and share with your audiences
We encourage you to:
  • Share these materials with your clients, patients, and networks
  • Post on your social media channels
  • Incorporate information into your newsletters, outreach, and events
Thank you to the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services for their collaboration on this initiative, and to the many partners who comprise the Cook County Medicaid Impact Workgroup for their engagement and input.
This is a collective effort. Our work together will be critical to ensuring eligible residents don’t lose coverage due to confusion or lack of information.
