Dead Bird Sighting Report

Update: There will be No Dead Bird Collection in 2025

The 2025 Vector Surveillance season runs from May 1 – October 15, 2025. This season, collecting dead birds for West Nile Virus testing will not be performed due to the ongoing H5N1 avian influenza outbreak. Further guidance will be issued regarding bird collection for the 2026 Vector Surveillance season. Please reference the IDPH bird disposal fact sheet.
