Nuisances

What Is A Nuisance?

A nuisance can be a person; a thing; or a circumstance that causes an inconvenience or an annoyance to someone or may be injurious to the safety and health of the public. A nuisance can be an act; an object; or a practice that invades or interferes with a person’s rights or interests by being offensive, dangerous, obstructive, or unhealthy.

CCDPH conducts on-site investigations of nuisance complaints throughout unincorporated suburban Cook County to determine if a violation is committed and to assure correction and compliance. For incorporated areas, contact the village or municipality.
