Founded in 2008 as a 501c3 in Chicago, the Latino Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Alliance (LAMDA) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization with the mission to educate and engage Latino Older Adults who are on risk or suffering from Mental Disorders and their Family relatives-caregivers’ members by providing skill building training, and compassionate support programs. LAMDA has extensive experience disseminating public health messages locally and nationally within the target population. Since its founding in 2008, LAMDA’s 60 Health Promoters (Bilingual Navigators) has reached, educated, serve, and connected with over 14,800 Latinos in more than 20 communities through face-to-face programming. LAMDA’s overall goal is to support caregivers and help them come out of isolation, which includes building emotional and financial supports.
